Business Solutions Portfolio Leader

About this role

Brown and Caldwell (BC) is currently seeking a Business Solutions Portfolio Leader to be responsible for leading the vision, strategy, market growth, and delivery approach for BC’s emerging business solutions portfolio. This portfolio includes scalable digital and business solutions that address water/wastewater utility client needs where commercial software products do not yet provide viable or complete solutions. The role leads business assessments, solution framing, go-to-market planning, client development, proposal strategy, delivery governance, and implementation planning for solutions that combine people, process, technology, and change management.
This role works across Advisory Services, Client Service Teams, and Regional Practice Leaders to create differentiated offerings, establish repeatable methods, and support consistent delivery nationwide. The position is responsible for translating utility operations challenges into compelling value propositions, roadmaps, business cases, proposals, and implementation strategies. Work is performed independently under minimal supervision and limited oversight from management. The role contributes to the advancement of BC technical practice areas by developing standards, templates, best practices, and reusable delivery frameworks.
Responsibilities

• Lead targeted and/or comprehensive business assessments and development of implementation strategies and plans for our clients to enhance their operations and efficiency.

• Lead efforts to support Client’s development of comprehensive planning approaches and practices that connect strategic goals and objectives to implementation.

• Lead development of guidelines, processes, and procedures for client assigned functional areas to bolster operational efficiency and effectiveness.

• Lead organizational development and management services for clients to achieve organizational excellence.

• Identify and assess potential risks to both BC and client organization, and ensure proper governance and policy development.

• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of company standards and best practices.

• Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.

Experience

• Typically, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

• Prior experience in leading projects.

• Experience in analyzing organizational and business needs, organizational development, and change management.

• Typically certified in the SMS Framework, and progressing through the SMS competencies.

Preferred Experience

• Typically, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in business consulting, management consulting, utility operations consulting, digital solution delivery, or a similar role.

• Experience leading projects or initiatives of strategic importance, including business transformation, solution implementation, organizational change, and process improvement.

• Demonstrated experience developing go-to-market strategies, proposals, scopes of work, sales enablement materials, discovery frameworks, and client-facing solution strategies.

• Experience leading solution or product ownership activities for configurable, low/no-code, SharePoint-based, or similar business solutions.

• Experience creating and governing delivery standards, implementation frameworks, templates, quality practices, and change management approaches.

• Experience managing or collaborating with technology partners, vendors, or solution developers, including coordination related to SOWs, SLAs, budgets, backlogs, roadmaps, and joint delivery models.

• Experience with utility enterprise applications such as CMMS/EAMS, GIS, LIMS, ERP, PMIS, CIS, or similar systems.

• Experience with asset onboarding and handover solutions, electronic O&M solutions, utility business processes, capital delivery processes, or operations and maintenance information practices.

Education

• A relevant degree or equivalent experience in business administration, management, communications or a related field.
Preferred Education

• Advanced degree, PMP, Prosci CCP, Power Platform, Azure, or similar professional certifications.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A: $117,000 - $159,000
Location B: $128,000 - $175,000
Location C: $140,000 - $191,000
