**Role Name:** AWS DevOps Engineer (Medior) **Location:** Ghent and Brussels, Belgium **Remote Work:** Yes (Hybrid) **Start Date:** 03/08/2026 **End Date:** 15/07/2027 **Language Requirement:** Dutch (CEFR C2)

**Main Responsibilities**

**AWS Platform Engineering**

* Build, operate, and maintain the central AWS hosting platform. * Develop and manage core platform services such as networking, DNS, firewalls, logging, monitoring, and deployment services. * Support the hub-and-spoke architecture. * Configure and onboard new spokes, services, and application workloads. * Ensure the platform remains scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable.

**Infrastructure as Code**

* Develop, optimise, and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions. * Automate platform configuration and infrastructure deployment. * Standardise infrastructure components and deployment processes. * Review and improve existing IaC implementations. * Maintain reusable and version-controlled infrastructure templates.

**CI/CD & Release Automation**

* Automate CI/CD processes using GitHub, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or comparable tooling. * Automate application releases across multiple environments. * Support reliable build, test, and deployment processes. * Improve continuous integration and continuous delivery practices. * Integrate platform and application deployments into automated pipelines.

**Application & Landing Zone Operations**

* Deploy and operationalise applications within AWS landing zones. * Manage application and infrastructure flows across the platform. * Configure new platform services and integrations. * Support project teams during application onboarding. * Maintain operational stability across hosted applications.

**Monitoring, Reliability & Recovery**

* Monitor the health of infrastructure and applications. * Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions. * Develop system failure and recovery plans. * Take corrective actions to improve availability and reliability. * Support incident analysis and operational troubleshooting.

**Container & Database Management**

* Manage container orchestration environments such as ECS Fargate, Kubernetes, or Docker. * Support containerised application deployment and operations. * Administer or support PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or MongoDB environments. * Ensure integration between application, container, database, and cloud services.
