About this role
Who We Are
We don’t just develop embedded software — we engineer intelligence into products. The Embedded Competence Center at NTT DATA Romania brings together experts in embedded systems, firmware development, and hardware–software integration, delivering robust and high-performance solutions for complex, safety-critical environments. With strong expertise in C/C++, AUTOSAR, real-time operating systems, and communication protocols, we design scalable embedded architectures, integrate software seamlessly with hardware, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Across the industries we support — from Automotive and Industrial Automation to Smart Devices and IoT — we transform reliable embedded technology into a foundation for innovative, dependable products.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer with strong AUTOSAR Classic expertise to support the development and integration of automotive DC/DC Converter software within the e-Mobility domain. The ideal candidate combines strong Embedded C development skills with hands-on experience in AUTOSAR BSW configuration and integration using the Vector toolchain, particularly DaVinci Configurator / Developer and MICROSAR. Previous experience with DC/DC Converters, OBC, Inverters, BMS or similar power electronics products is highly preferred.
Please note that this opportunity is available exclusively on a freelance/contractor basis (B2B engagement). We are currently not considering permanent employment applications for this role.
What you'll be doing

• Implement and maintain interfaces between AUTOSAR software and DC/DC control/application functionality.
• Debug and resolve complex software, BSW configuration and integration issues.
• Perform ECU-level debugging and communication analysis using CANoe / CANalyzer and other Vector tools.
• Support software integration, testing, code reviews and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Software Architects, System Engineers, Functional Safety, Hardware and Test teams.
• Develop software according to Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262 and project-specific development processes.
What you'll bring along
• 5+ years of experience in Automotive Embedded Software Development.
• Strong programming experience in Embedded C.
• Strong hands-on experience with AUTOSAR Classic.
• Good understanding of BSW, RTE, MCAL and AUTOSAR OS.
• Hands-on experience with Vector AUTOSAR tooling, particularly:
• Experience with AUTOSAR BSW configuration and integration.
• Experience working with ARXML, RTE generation and AUTOSAR configuration workflows.
• Good knowledge of CAN / CAN-FD and UDS diagnostics.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for complex embedded systems.
• Understanding of real-time embedded systems and automotive ECU architectures.
• Knowledge of Automotive SPICE development processes.
• Previous experience with DC/DC Converter software development.
• Experience with other e-Mobility / Power Electronics ECUs, such as OBC, Inverter or BMS.
• Deep experience with Vector MICROSAR BSW stacks.
