We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a major digital transformation project within the Belgian healthcare sector. You'll play a key role in the design, development and implementation of a modern cloud-based data platform that enables secure and reliable sharing of healthcare data between multiple organizations. Working closely with Data Architects, Functional Analysts and Project Managers, you'll contribute to building scalable data integration solutions, validation services and master data components while ensuring high standards of data quality, maintainability and performance. This role combines hands-on Data Engineering with functional analysis, REST API development and Azure Databricks, offering the opportunity to work on a project with significant societal impact.

**Responsibilities**

* Perform functional analysis and translate business and data requirements into technical solutions * Design, develop and maintain data hubs connected to multiple master and reference data sources * Build robust data integration solutions using Azure Databricks and Python * Develop and maintain REST APIs and connector services supporting data exchange, validation and platform integration * Design and implement data validation mechanisms to ensure high data quality across multiple external data sources * Develop, test, deploy and maintain scalable data engineering solutions * Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing maintenance and technical support * Produce clear technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle * Demonstrate solutions, conduct prototype reviews and provide user training where required * Work closely with Project Managers, Data Architects, Functional Analysts and business stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle * Contribute to Agile development practices and continuous improvement initiatives
