Analytics and Modeling Manager | Data Scientist

About this role

Analytics:Create new insights from predictive statistical modeling activities thattarget and deliver value to our clients.

Reports to: Analytics and Modeling Senior Manager

General role description: The function focuses ondelivering advanced analytics as a service.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Leads the delivery of strategic advancedanalytics solutions across different industries

• Provide analytics insights and solutions tosolve business problems that are specific to client requirements

• Leverage analytics within transformationprojects in operations through maturity assessments and one-time analyticsprojects

• Support operations in fact-based decisionmaking, RCA and strategic initiatives through data analysis, text analysis andstatistical modeling.

• Follow multiple approaches for project execution

• Adapt existing assets to Operations use cases

• Explore third-party and open source solutionsfor speed to execution and for specific use cases

• Engage in fundamental research to develop novelsolutions

• Collaborate with other data scientists, subjectmatter experts, sales, and delivery teams from company locations around theglobe to deliver strategic advanced analytics projects from design toexecution.

• Build and manage analytics team for at least twotowers

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Statistics,Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or relatedscientific disciplines

• Work experience of at least 10 years in relevantindustries (Financial Services, Network, Utilities, Health Care, Marketing,Pharma, Retail etc.) – with hands on experience handling data-driven decisions

• Experience in statistical modeling, machinelearning, data mining, unstructured data analytics in corporate and/or academicresearch environments

• Expert in statistical and other tools/ languages– e.g. R, S-plus, SAS, STATA, Python, C, C++, Java, Scala

• Familiarity with relational databases andintermediate knowledge of SQL

• Proven background in at least one of thefollowing: Reliability models, Markov Models, Stochastic Models, BayesianModelling, Classification Models, Cluster Analysis, Neural Network,Non-parametric methods, Multivariate statistics

• Aptitude to learn, think creativity to solvereal world business problems, and work in a global collaborative teamenvironment

• Proficient verbal and written communicationskills in English

Nice to Have:

• Hands on experience in developing and deliveringmachine learning models that work in a production setting

• Experience working with large data sets andtools like MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc. and large data streaming technologieslike Spark, Flink, etc.

• Experience in any of these domains:Infrastructure Services, Security, Retail, Digital Marketing, eCommerce,Insurance, Supply Chain, Banking, Capital Markets, etc.
