The Position

What You Will be Doing

• Design, build, and ship features across the MetaDefender Endpoint C++/Qt codebase (Windows primary; macOS and Linux supported).

• Use GitHub Copilot, and Claude Code daily to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation, while evaluating AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability before it ships.

• Author and maintain AI context files for the modules you own, so agents produce consistent, on-pattern code across the team.

• Review code with a security-first lens, for both human- and AI-generated changes.

• Mentor teammates on effective AI tool usage and endpoint / security C++ best practices.

What We Need from You

• 3+ years of professional C++ development experience.

• Strong fundamentals: memory management, concurrency, RAII, design patterns, secure coding.

• Experience shipping cross-platform desktop or endpoint software on Windows (macOS / Linux a plus).

• Debugging skills with WinDbg, lldb, or gdb.

• Unit testing experience with GoogleTest, Catch2, or equivalent.

• 1+ years of professional experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code) to ship production code, with judgment to evaluate AI-generated output before committing.

It Would Be Nice If You Had

• Prior experience with endpoint security, AV / EDR, device control, or Windows internals.

• Experience authoring AI context files (CLAUDE.md, .github/copilot-instructions.md, .cursorrules) that encode architecture decisions and forbidden patterns.

• Familiarity with running AI agents in CI/CD pipelines (auto-fix lint, generate tests, triage failures).

• Secondary languages: Python or Go.

• Experience shipping Qt / QML applications across Windows, macOS, and Linux.

• Open-source contributions or personal projects that show how you work with AI tools.
