About this role
Performing accounting of assets, liabilities and business operations of the nonprofit organization (accounting for fixed assets, inventory, production costs, sales, results of financial and economic activities, settlements with suppliers and customers, as well as payments for services, etc.
Participating in the development and implementation of measures aimed at ensuring financial discipline and the efficient use of resources of the nonprofit organization
Receiving and controlling primary documentation related to the relevant accounting areas and personnel records of the nonprofit organization
Recording in the accounting system all transactions involving the movement of fixed assets, inventory and cash of the nonprofit organization
Providing management with accurate and reliable information in the relevant areas of accounting of the nonprofit organization
Developing the chart of accounts and preparing primary accounting documents used for recording business transactions of the nonprofit organization
Participating in the economic analysis of financial and business activities based on accounting and reporting data in order to identify internal reserves, improve document flow, and develop and implement progressive accounting methods within the nonprofit organization
Preparing accounting data of the nonprofit organization for reporting purposes, ensuring the safekeeping of accounting documents, and arranging their transfer to the archive in accordance with established procedures
Performing activities related to the creation, maintenance and storage of accounting databases, as well as updating reference and regulatory information used in the accounting processes of the nonprofit organization
3+ years of experience as an Accountant, including experience with nonprofit organizations, charitable foundations, or public associations
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
Strong knowledge of Ukrainian accounting and tax legislation, particularly as it applies to nonprofit organizations
Hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting, including fixed assets, inventory, accounts payable and receivable, cash transactions, and primary accounting documentation
Experience in preparing accounting and financial reports
Experience in processing and verifying primary accounting documentation
Experience working with grant funding, donor-funded projects, or international projects
Proficiency in accounting software (1C/BAS or similar) and MS Excel
High attention to detail, strong sense of responsibility, and excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
English proficiency at Pre-Intermediate level
